Motherhood brings challenges for all of those who experience it. These challenges can sometimes be exacerbated by the laws and customs of the place you are living with your young family.
A French comic artist known only as “Emma”, recently compared and contrasted how new mothers are treated in France versus the US, using humorous cartoons to illustrate the serious problems. While France offers a period of paid maternity leave, there is no equivalent across the Atlantic. Childcare in both countries remains prohibitively expensive, meaning many women are forced to give up careers that they love for financial reasons as they raise their families. Read full story HERE.
