COFACE and Eurofound are organising a joint roundtable about two-generation Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) programmes. Even though childcare provision is central to many policies as child welfare, education, social and employment policies, it is still not getting enough priority it deserves. As very few data and evidence are available on whether the impacts on children and families are stronger than those of single-generation programmes, we aim to further the discourse and gather evidence.
To further the discourse and provide alternative examples of childcare, as well as introduce Eurofound’s new report on ECEC, over this roundtable discussion, we aim to highlight two-generation programmes that consider high-quality earlychildhood education centres and crèches as platforms for attracting parents in to education and training.
